“Our guide Marco provided detail on Sicily and the countryside with warmth and humour as he drove us from our Taormina hotel to the farmhouse. Once there, he walked us to the stables where our young riding guide mounted us and we rode through the foothill farmlands of Mt. Aetna. The grapes were on the vines with another 1-2 months for picking. We watched those vines being trimmed by the farmhands. We were escorted throughout by a frisky colt of one of our horses.
